Anche per quest'anno il Tokyo Game Show è venuto e se n'è andato, e come tutti gli anni il CESA, organizzatore dell'evento, ha premiato gli sviluppatori dei giochi più meritevoli. Vincitore indiscusso dello show sambrerebbe essere Monster Hunter Portable 3rd, ma anche i Pokémon vincono categorie importanti e Call of Duty: Black Ops conquista la palma come miglior gioco Import.
Tra i Future Awards, ossia i premi insigniti "sulla fiducia" ai titoli non ancora sul mercato (fiducia ovviamente generata da ciò che è stato possibile vedere e provare durante lo show), compaiono svariati nuovi brand: Asura's Wrath, Dragon's Dogma e Binary Domain. La critica di Tokyo ha dato fiducia anche ai due Final Fantasy in arrivo e all'occidentalissimo Battlefield 3. Tra gli altri, anche Dragon Collection: un card game rilasciato da Konami su supporto Mobile.
